Sometimes when I’m in serious need of vacation or just wanna escape reality and travel far away mentally my favorite thing to do is get home, light up some candles, which I always have a ton of in every room of the house and I like to watch one of my favorite movies that take place in a foreign country! Some of these movies changed my life and others inspired me on some of my trips. Vicky Christina Barcelona: (Barcelona, Spain) one of my all time favorite movies! This movie made me wanna go to BARCELONA SOOOOO BAD! and Barcelona ended up being just as great as I’d imaged. Anyways this movie will definitely make you wanna visit Spain! and it has my favorite Penelope Cruz in it!
I tend to like Woody Allen’s dried humor and editing. He also always picks great movie location.

Into the Wild: (Alaska, middle America) This movie will steal your heart, what an incredible movie! Emile Hirsch best performance yet! Eddie Vedder has amazing music through out the movie that will make you cry. and well what can I say I’m a sucker for True Stories with amazing courageous free-spirited souls. A MUST SEE!

 Woman on Top: (Brazil, San Francisco) This has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid, it’s where I first fall in love with Penelope Cruz. It’s definitely a chick flick but such a beautiful, colorful, artsy movie. Good love story. Makes you wanna be a chef 😉

 Eat, Pray, Love: (Italy, India, Indonesia) Although the book is much better and I highly recommended because its alot more inspiring than the movie. I still gotta give it credit, such amazing and beautiful countries all in one movie is fun. Love Julia Roberts.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie: (Rome, Italy) haha I know what your thinking but I LOVE THIS MOVIE! and NO I have never watched her show but this movie made me fall in love with Italy and surly enough Italy is my favorite country that I have been to! So you gotta give this movie some credit. I make all my good friends watch this haha. It’s cute, funny and there are great sight seeing spots.

Blue Crush: (Hawaii) WOW this movie is just filmed so beautifully! With all the waves, underwater shots and Island shots its just fun to watch! When this movie came out all I wanted to do was become a professional surfer and funny enough I learned to Surf in Hawaii and got on my first wave within in just 30mins and YES the coral reef there is THAT sharp. This movie also made me want to move to Hawaii in my early 20’s, it just made Hawaii seem like the perfect face to live in. Good movie, never gets old.

 The Bucket List: (All Around the World) Great movie, great story about 2 different worlds coming together and you get a good view of different countries in the world.

Monte Carlo: (Monte Carlo, Monaco) Cute chick flick, I had to watch this one because of Miss. Blair Waldorf. I definitely wanna go on a fun get away with a good girlfriend after this one.

 Midnight in Paris (Paris, France): A Woody Allen movie, It’s a cute movie that takes you back to Paris in the 1920’s which is my favorite era. Awesome location, love the costumes, fun movie!

 The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: (India) I randomly went to see this movie alone once in the theater, because I saw the trailer and I’ve always been curious about visiting India. India has to be on my top 5 countries to visit, so I wanted a closer look into the life style. This movie is an indie film, the story of Seniors going on a vacation in India and end up at the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, although it turns up to be all false.

 Moulin Rouge: (Paris, France) MOULIN ROUGE! I’ve been in love with this movie since I was 16! I can never get sick of this movie! Going to Paris was always a dream of mine due to this film. A MUST SEE! LOVVVVES IT!

  Memoirs of a Geisha: (Japan, Asia) My mom showed me this movie when I was younger, it’s such a beautiful heart felt story. If your in the mood for a good movie. This is the one!

  Mamma Mia! (Greece) This movie just makes me crap up! I remember my mom and I went to see this movie and couldn’t stop laughing the whole time. Although the Broadway show was a million times better and I know because I’ve watched it about 4 times (my mom made me) this movie has such beautiful breath taking locations of Greece. I love all the songs but watching Pierce Brosnan sing was a bit much. If your down for a funny musical and a family film, Mamma Mia is for you!

  The Beach: (Thailand) Love me some Leo time! It’s funny when I watched this movie when I was younger I had no idea what it was really about, I didn’t understand why people are getting killed in this one “field” for no reason! hahaha I actually re-watched it on TV 2 weeks ago and called my brother up to tell him NOWWWW I GET IT! Beautiful shots of the Islands in Thailand.

 Forgetting Sarah Marshall: (Hawaii) This movie kills me! I seriously LMAO the whole time! I LOVE THIS MOVIE! It’s just great and it gives you great views of Hawaii resort. A MUST SEE!

 Chasing Liberty: (Europe) Mandy Moore stars in this one and although I was never a big fan of her, this is such a cute/good Euro story on the adventure of getting to the Annual Love Parade.

 Nine: (Italy) Starring 9 of the most beautiful ladies in Hollywood this musical shows the beautiful country of Italy.

 The Rum Diary: (Puerto Rico) Johnny Depp who doesn’t love a little Johnny Depp time!? Although the story itself wasn’t as great I just loved seeing Puerto Rico, definitely wanna travel there someday!

 The Secret Life of Walter Mitty: (Iceland) When I saw the trailer to this, I knew I had to see it. Cute movie, artsy movie if your into that. Love Ben Stiller.

 Under the Tuscan Sun: (Tuscany, Italy) I actually watched this movie for the first time on my tour bus in Italy on the way to Tuscany lol! Cute movie! Love Diane Lane and ITALY!

 Once Upon A Time In Mexico: (Mexico) Good actors, great action movie and well It’s Mexico what do you expect.

 New Year’s Eve: (New York) This movie really makes you feel NEW YORK CITY! This is coming from a previous New Yorker, I have spent a few New Year’s in Manhattan and this is a beautiful outlook of how New York really is.
