Sri Lanka was one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever visited. A year and a half before traveling to Sri Lanka, I had met a famous world photographer in Kerala, India who told me it’s his favorite country in the world and wouldn’t stop raving about how beautiful it was. I guess you can say, I had high hopes for Sri Lanka since I loved India so much and heard it was similar. However, both the locals of Sri Lanka and India don’t like to be compared to each other but for the westernized world, I think I would have to say that Sri Lanka is a bit like India on the lighter side.
My trip to Sri Lanka was full of breathtaking sunsets, tea plantation, Buddhist temples and ruins, elephants, nature and more.
I went on an amazing trip and visited Colombo, Ella, Polonnaruwa, Kitulgala, Sabaragamuwa, Minneriya and a few more cities.
While visiting Sri Lanka, I saw beautiful waterfalls and went Abseiling down a cliff/mountain in the middle of a waterfall (200 ft high). I also went on an elephant safari in Minneriya National Park with a jeep and later a water safari. I visited the beautiful city of Ella, where I went hiking up Little Adam’s Peak, swam in waterfalls and visited tea plantations, while sleeping in the jungles. I also visited the beautiful Ulpotha: The Best Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat in Sri Lanka and so much more! If you ever wondered about visiting Sri Lanka, these photos might just inspire your next vacation!
