7 Top Things To Do In Punta Cana – Dominican Republic
I spend an amazing week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic last week and it was seriously awesome. I brought back with me amazing memories and a few great ideas for you guys on your next trip there.
For those of you who have never heard of the Dominican Republic or Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic is an island in the Caribbeans about a 2 and a half hours flight from the coast of Miami. The Dominican Republic shares the island with Haiti, which if some of you guys forgot, is where the horrible earthquake of 2010 took place.
Before I left on my little vacation, I looked at the different attractions and things to do in Punta Cana and didn’t find nearly as much things to do, until I actually got there. So I thought I’d share the best and most impressive attractions Punta Cana has to offer.

1.Outback Safari Adventure
If you’re looking for an awesome cultural experience in the Dominican Republic, to see how the true locals live, what they eat, how they make cigars, coffee beans, chocolate and all things coconut, then check out the Outback Safari Adventure. You have the option of doing a half a day (4hrs) or a full day (8hrs) tour. I recommend doing the full tour because the half day tour is $75 and the full day is $90 and you get 4 more hours of fun. I did the full day tour and had the time of my life. The staff is super friendly, funny and educate you on some pretty interesting stuff. This tour includes an all you can drink both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages all day. A delicious locals lunch, which is the only place you’ll really get to try the local food, since most hotels don’t have them. You get to sample many fruits and drinks along the tour, visit a school and a local families house and end the day at the beautiful Macao beach. Totally worth your money! (Hotel pickup and drop-off included)

2. Zip Line Adventure Punta Cana by Runners Adventure
There are many zip-lining companies on the island, but the best one was by Runners Adventure. The zip-lining adventure with Runners Adventure is better than the rest because it offers the most zip lines, which are 12. To top it off you will get to go on the highest and longest zip lines in all of the Caribbeans, which are #9 and #11. #9 is the longest which is 2296 feet long and #11 is twice the fun because you can race with a friend and it’s 2624 feet high! They also allow you to take your cameras with you, which I know other companies don’t allow it. Flying over the beautiful rain-forest of the island was breathtaking and highly recommend it to anyone who isn’t afraid of heights. It’s easy, fun and well, just amazing. JUST DO IT! (4hrs, Hotel pickup and drop-off included)

I was told by the staff that the zip line at night is an interesting experience, you are flying through the rain-forest in pitch darkness. You will hear animals, but also get to enjoy the beautiful sky full of stars. There are torches at each stop, so you will see each ending and beginning locations. (4hrs, Hotel pickup and drop-off included)

If you’re looking for a wild and crazy fun activity on the island, you need to go on the ATV buggy tour. You make a stop at a local grocery store to try the local coffee and also stop at La Caiba and Macao beach.

5. Marinarium Excursions – Reef Explorer
If you’re in the mood for a fun, relaxing and adventures experience, check out the Reef Explorer tour. I honestly did so many awesome excursions in Punta Cana and it’s hard to pick which one was my favorite, but this is definitely up there, if not THE best one. Maybe it was the amazing and entertaining crew of the Reef Explorer or all 11 fun activities to choose from, but this tour was a blast! This excursion takes you on a boat ride to a beautiful man built island hut, where you can enjoy swimming with sharks, stingrays and fish, you can even use the power snorkel to get a closer look at the sharks. You also get a chance to hold a stingray, if you’re not afraid and learn to paddle board and kayak. This excursion also comes with a 20min reflexology massage or a back massage, along with healthy snacks, cocktails and smoothies. A must do when visiting Punta Cana!
