If there is one thing I know or an expert in — it’s achieving goals and dreams.

My entire life I’ve been on the pursuit of making all my wildest dreams come true and at times I was shocked as to how I made crazy, unrealistic dreams and goals actually happen. It literally blows my mind each and every time. Things I almost thought were basically “impossible” and somehow, someway, I made them happen!

So today I’m here to share with you my secrets to successful dreams and goal making! How to actually make your dreams and New Years’ resolutions ACTUALLY come true! **punch punch emoji**

New Year’s is definitely a special time of the year. It’s my second favorite holiday after Halloween because I get to check in with myself and reevaluate my life, see what I’ve accomplished in the past year, what I haven’t, why I haven’t, what I want to work on. I reflect and ask myself if I’m happy with where things are going and create a list of things I want to accomplish in the new year. Here are 10 Things I’ve Accomplished In 2019!

I also circle back around on my birthday time, which is almost the half-year mark, in August, to see how far I am from getting to where I want to be.

So let’s begin! Lesson number one ☝🏼

Step 1: Reviewing Your Life 

Life is basically divided into a few different catalogs.

We have:

  • Friendship
  • Family
  • Relationship/Love
  • Career
  • Health
  • Finances/Money
  • Hobbies/Following Your Passion
  • Spirituality/Relationship With G*d

These are the basic essential our life revolves around.

There are times in our life where we are mastering some and failing others. Times where we are failing most but successful in others but balance in life is king.

Your life isn’t always gonna be perfect…. in fact chances are it’s never gonna be perfect but you can sure in hell try to make things as perfect as you need them to be and it can definitely happen for you, no matter who you are or what life has served you. There is always gonna worse and better.

You’re gonna have best days and worst days. Amazing times in your life and worst times of your life and somewhere in the middle of all that we have to find balance and happiness and it’s all ok because there is growth in the not so perfect way of life. The bad times make us revalue our life and our existence. They help us grow — they are a reminder for growth!

First, every year, I take a piece of paper and a pen and I make a sort of a chart of all these things I just listed. I put a star next to what I think I’m thriving on currently in life. I keep it super honest which is super important. Don’t cheat yourself, be honest with yourself. There is no growth in dishonesty, no matter how hard the truth is.

This process helps me evaluate why I’m so happy currently or why I’m not.

Then whatever I see is lacking, I sit down with myself and try to figure out how can I make these categories better… how do I want it to be? What things can I actually do to change the outcome of my current situation?

Take some time with yourself and think. This will definitely help you start thinking of good, realistic goals for this upcoming year.

Step 2 – Ask yourself, what do I actually WANT

This might seem simple but it actually isn’t, sometimes not even for me.

This step is actually critical and crucial to your life.

So many people don’t actually know what they want out of life because they never took the time to sit down with themselves and really think about it, they just go go go chasing the clock and don’t understand how a year passed by so quickly and why they are still stuck in their current situation.

Without setting goals, you’re basically a sailor at sea with no compass. You have no real direction. You will DEFINITELY get lost at sea AKA life, you might end up in situations you never really wanted or expected to be in but had you have done some planning and set some goals your adventure would have had a purpose and a better outcome.

Also, more importantly, so many people focus on what they don’t want in life, in relationships, in friends and in their jobs but they never actually sit down with themselves and ask the most important question of all, “What do I actually WANT when it comes to ________?”

“What do I actually want out of my life?”

“What do I want to be doing with my life?”

“What are my dreams? Aspirations? Goals?”

“What would ACTUALLY make me happy?…truly happy”

This might take a while. You might have to do some deep soul searching, reflecting and thinking with yourself and it might not come to you right away but don’t worry, in the perfect timing it will. It always does.

Questions to ask yourself: 

Do I actually wanna be working for this company anymore? Even though I’m not being appreciated or treated right? Or do you actually want to have a job you enjoy? A place where you get excited to go to every day, a place that actually makes you happy. Do you want to work for yourself? And finally, kick start your dream career? What do you REALLY want to be doing with your life?

Do you want to keep bitching about being fat or overweight? Or do you actually want to get in better shape? Eat healthier? Be healthier?

Do you want to keep being in a relationship that doesn’t actually work for a while now? Or do you want to choose LOVE, true love, unconditional love?

Do you want to keep hanging out with people who don’t see the real you or appreciate you? Or use you? Or do you actually want to find friends who value you, care for you and are there for you when times are hard?

This is the part most people aren’t ready to face, it’s the “not so pretty”, maybe even, the ugly side to their current life and they would rather avoid it and get back to it later only to realize that they have been living this way since forever but you my friend, well, you’re not like most people, otherwise, you wouldn’t be here, right? 😉

Choose life man! Choose life because you deserve better! You are better than your current situation no matter where you are in life, there is always more to seek, better opportunities out there just waiting for you to realize they exist! Your life matters! To you, to the people who love you, to the universe and your soul.

You weren’t brought here by mistake. There is a bigger plan for you out there waiting for you to tap into your full potential! PROMISE!

Step 3: How bad do you want it?

You gotta, want it! REALLY WANT IT! Not kind of, sort of want it. If you plan on actually following through with what your about to set to do. It’s the only way to make it possible!

If you don’t REALLY want it you’ll end up giving yourself a million excuses on how it’s not gonna work out and/or you might just forget about it and move on with life and make it just a bucket list, hopeless dream.

WANT IT BABY! YOU DESERVE IT!

Step 4: Planning it out & getting the details figured out

Now that you have a better understanding of what you actually want, now comes the planning it out, the details, the full vision and goal setting.

In order to figure that out, you need to try to break each goal down into section and write down as many details as you can as to how you see it all turning out at the end —- getting a clearer vision. Manifesting. Write down all the details as to how you think it will happen, what steps you need to take in order to make that possible.

Let’s say you wanted to lose weight, how? By eating healthier? What will you eat, how will you actually change your diet? Will you be going to the gym? Taking a high-intensity workout or will you do it through doing yoga, maybe pilates? How many times a week?

You want to quit your job and/or create/find your dream job? What steps are you gonna actually take towards creating that dream into reality? Do you need to start working on a resume, how long will it take? You want to start a new business, what are some things you need to do to get started? Do some research.

Step 5: Setting a time frame

Goal setting 101, a goal without an expiration date is not a goal… it’s an idea and a dream. There is a big difference.

I’m not sure who said it, but once I read that creating a time frame for your actual goal is 50% of actually completing it. I strongly believe that to be true. Once you set a date, you’re now accountable for actually making it happen. There is an expiration date. It almost has to be done 😉

So be realistic, how long do you think it will take you? Again, realistically to achieve that dream. You want to lose 10lbs? In how long? 2 months? 3 months? You want to save $5000, in how long? You want to quit your job, by when?

Once you figure out what you actually want, the details and by when, I believe you’re about 60% done with your actual goal. You’ve actually started the manifestation process. You have a pretty clear vision as to how it’s all gonna go down…for the most part.

Step 6: Breaking down your goals

It’s super important to breakdown your goals so that you don’t overwhelm yourself. Sure, losing 50lbs sounds like insanely a lot and it is. But if you broke it down and said you will achieve it in a year, it would really mean you need to lose 4.1lbs a month. Breaking that down into a week would mean you would only need to lose 1lbs a week! That’s NOTHING! See… not so overwhelming after all 😉

Let’s say you wanted to save $5000 in a 6 month period… a month that would be $833, per a week it would be $208. Not so bad is it?

This is how I save money to travel throughout my life.

You see, when you breakdown it actually helps your brain process that it’s not so impossible.

Step 7: Check-in with yourself on a daily base

Once you actually break it down, now you have weekly and monthly goals to be accountable for.

If you care enough for them, check-in with yourself on a daily base. Personally, that’s how I actually see how committed I am to making it happen. When I was losing weight, I weighed myself daily and kept subtracting how much more I have to go and kept focusing on that number.

When I was working in sales, I was the best salesperson in the entire USA, why? Because I created monthly, weekly and daily goals for myself. Every day when I would get to work, I’d get my coffee, take out the calculator and add up how much I’ve made this week and how much more I needed and focused on that number. Focus on what you WANT, not what you don’t want. Super important. I made 3 times more than everyone else and I didn’t even know it for the first few months. Most of the people I worked with didn’t have a monthly goal, let alone a goal and they couldn’t understand why they weren’t making any money.

Also, if you know anything about the law of attraction this is how it’s done — by reprogramming your brain and attracting what you actually want into your life.

Step 8: Be Proud!

It’s ok to be proud of yourself. Repeat after me. “It’s ok to be proud of yourself!” 

Society has made us believe that it’s almost wrong to be proud of ourselves, for many there is a bit or a lot of shame around saying “WOW! I’m so proud of yourself!”, seriously stop that BS! lol I’m serious! There is nothing wrong with being proud of yourself, you worked your butt off, you should be proud of yourself! Add this to your list for this year, ‘NO MORE self-sabotage”. Be proud of who you are and what you’ve achieved! It will help motivate you to keep going!

SIDENOTE! The second hardest part…

Now comes the second hardest part, actually following through with what you had set to do.

This is the part of where your will power is going to be tested — how much of a fighter in life you are. We are all fighters of life, battling different battles but let’s use that will power in a positive light and actually create something beautiful with it!

Things don’t always work out the way you wanted, there will be bumps on the road to success ALWAYS. It’s just the way life works. Our battles and our misfortune is what actually makes us value our success once it’s been achieved. It’s what builds us and makes us stronger. Know that no plan is ever perfect. But never ever ever give up! Also, don’t be so hard on yourself. It’s ok to have a cheat day or two. It’s ok to have a lazy day. It’s ok to not always be perfect. There will always be setbacks but keep pushing through. Remember you deserve it! You deserve better and things will get better! But only if you care enough to actually change them.

You have to want it! Really want it!

For me, throughout my life, it always seems like right at the end, at the freakin finish line something goes wrong — it’s the ultimate universal test, is what I like to call it. It’s a test to see how badly you want it, will you quit now or fight through and figure out a way to make the impossible possible!

I literally believe that nothing is impossible, nothing (start believing it too!). I have seen it through my own eyes through others and hundreds of times through my own experiences. I can write a book about how I made the impossible possible. I have an ocean full of stories and when times are hard I remind myself of them. Having a positive outlook is essential.
