When I first started my travel blog 3 years ago, I had no idea what travel insurance was all about. When I eventually discovered it, I decided to never travel without it and during my past 2.5 years of traveling around the world, I always get travelers insurance and only go with Allianz Global Assistance.
During my first year as a travel blogger, I met a really successful travel blogger who became the ambassador for Allianz Global Assistance, the #1 travel insurance company in the US. I asked him what the benefits of paying for travelers insurance were if you already had health insurance. He explained to me that most health insurance plans in the US don’t cover your international travels and he was right. But travelers insurance is just so much more than that. He also explained to be all the cool benefits you get while having travelers insurance and how you can earn serious money for the simplest of things we all deal with when we travel.
For example, most people don’t know this but getting travelers insurance covers a lot, besides your health which is clearly very important. Allianz Global Assistance covers trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and transportation up to $1,000,000! It also covers baggage loss/damage, baggage delay, travel delay, missed connection, change fee coverage and more. Literally, everything we all deal with.
I seriously can’t tell you how many times my flights have been delayed and then I would lose my following connection flight and be late to my destination, especially when I was a corporate sales trainer and clients were waiting on me. I’ve also had my baggage lost or appear late by a few days, which is everyone’s worst nightmare. To me, it happened the most, during the time I was living out of my suitcase for 4 years and traveling the world. Losing my suitcase was like losing my life. I could have gotten paid up to $600 for having my suitcase delayed. I also could have gotten up to $2000 if they had completely lost my suitcase. Also, when I traveled to India, I got an email from the airline that my flight back home has been canceled and moved to the following day. If I was smart enough at the time, I could have totally gotten paid for it. For that alone, I could have gotten up to $1600!!
Since that trip, I never travel without travelers insurance and like I said earlier I always go with Allianz Global Assistance because they really are the best in the USA and there is a reason for that. They are always working on making the customer get the most out of their money. Most recently, Allianz Global Assistance just made it even easier for all of us to file a claim without dealing with too much hustle and receiving payment faster and easier.
One of the most frequent complaints that insurance companies hear from customers involves the claims process and to be honest, I totally get it. We live in such a hectic world and I don’t know about you, but I always have a long list of things to do every single day and if I’m filing a claim I want it to be as easy and fast.
Allianz Global Assistance just launched a redesigned for their claim forms that will be easier to use and understand. Now you have the option of selecting a direct deposit payment to your checking account, and the ability to use the company’s TravelSmart mobile app to file and track claims. You can also file a claim at AllianzTravelInsurance.com website using any device. The best part is the way you get paid, you can now select to get a check in the mail and a debit card deposit option will be available in May. But selecting the direct deposit option reduces the time it takes to receive payment to as little as 1 or 2 days! Aint that amazing?!
“We’re proud to roll out innovations that will reinvent the Travel Protection industry,” said Joe Mason, Chief Marketing Officer at Allianz Worldwide Partners USA. “Now consumers can file travel insurance claims faster and easier and may be reimbursed almost immediately. These improvements to the customer experience are just the beginning of the exciting innovations we have planned.”
