Paris is one of the most famous cities in the world! In 2013, Paris welcomed 15.6 million international visitors and many keep coming back for more to dine, sight see and enjoy the beautiful city of love. I was one of them! Bringing in the New Years! When you’re visiting Paris, there are things you must do, otherwise, you’re really missing out on the full Paris experience. So let’s play I spy! How many of these famous must see things in Paris, have you been to?

Find: The Lock Bridge

The iconic lock bridge in Paris is one of the most famous attractions in all of Paris. Couples from all around the world have locked their love on this bridge for years now. Sadly, the lock bridge isn’t going to be up for very long because it has been causing the bridge to slowly collapse. It might have already been taking down and if it hasn’t yet, you better make your way to Paris ASAP to lock your love before the bridge also becomes part of history.

Find: The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower, do I need to say more? How can anyone go to Paris and not see the iconic Eiffel Tower?! When is the best time to visit the Eiffel Tower? I think to get the best photo, it’s best to visit at sunset and then watch the amazing sparkling light show, made of 20,000 bulbs! A must see when visiting Paris.

Find: Laduree Macarons

If you know anything about desserts, you know that Laduree Macarons are the best Macarons in the world! The company has been around since 1862 and continues to be the most famous Macarons brands and has been featured in many movies and TV shows in Paris, like Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. A single Macarons is 1,90€ .

Find: The Moulin Rouge

The famous movie, Moulin Rouge has brought a lot of hype to Paris. Anyone who has seen the movie and fell in love with it must see the real Moulin Rouge, although the show isn’t as crazy as it is in the movie, it’s still a fun show to watch while visiting Paris.

Find: Princess Diana Memorial – Flame of Liberty

The Flame of Liberty is always associated with the death of Diana, but it was really a gift to Paris from the U.S.A. in gratitude for the restoration hard work done on the Statue of Liberty. However, most tourists visit this spot because it’s placed underneath the tunnel where Princess Diana was killed in a tragic car accident. So now it has become, unofficially known as Princess Diana Memorial.

Find: The Bottom of The Louvre Pyramid

The beautiful glass pyramid of The Louvre, is world famous, however, your mission is to find the bottom of the pyramid. Where you can also find a Laduree Macarons shop.

Find: The Mona Lisa

You may think that finding the Mona Lisa is a piece of cake since it’s one of the most famous paintings in the world, but in fact, it’s not so easy to find her in The Louvre. It feels like you’re walking through a maze until you find her and even when you do find the painting, it’s another maze trying to get a closer look or a photo of her because of the crowd that waits your arrival. It can take anywhere from 45mins to an hour and a half to get to from the entrance.

Find: Catacombs Tunnels

Dare to be daring? This one is clearly, not for everyone, myself included. But history says that over millions of skeletons are buried under the tunnels of Paris and there are even a museum and a tour for it. (More info on the tour click: the catacombs)

Find: Arc De Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris and a must see when visiting Paris. But even better than just seeing it from a far, take the 284 steps all the way to the top, to catch a stunning view of the beautiful city. It looks so easy to get there, but in fact, you can’t just cross the street and get there, you have to go in an underground tunnel to get there.

Find: Winged Victory of Samothrace

The Winged Victory of Samothrace, also called the Nike of Samothrace, is a 2nd-century BC marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike and can also be found in The Louvre. It’s where the famous Nike brand got their name.

Find: Sacré-Cœur

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, can be found in the Moulin Rouge area. It’s a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica and a beautiful structure that must be seen.

Find: Notre Dame de Cathedral

We all know the famous story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, some say the story is based on a true story and others say it’s false. One thing’s for sure, the Notre Dame Cathedral is stunning and even more beautiful on the inside.

The Christmas market in Paris is one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe starting from November. It’s a fantastic atmosphere and offers a great shopping opportunities from art & crafts, food stands and delicious desserts.

Find: The Carousel next to The Eiffel Tower

There are actually 6 beautiful carousels in Paris, but the most popular one is the one next to the Eiffel Tower. Best time to visit is during the night when it lights up with the Eiffel Tower’s light show! You’ll feel like you’re in the perfect fairy tale.
