Sunday is Funday

Spread the love

Summer has officially begun! Well at least here in LA, today was a hot 95’F degrees day and if you know LAers we like to take advantage of it and spend the day out in the Sun!

For me my day began somewhat early, at least for ME that is 10:30am because lately I’ve been going to bed at 5am. Anyways I wokeup this morning so excited because I had tickets to go to TOTEM Cirque Du Soleil in Santa Monica.
I am a big fan of Cirque Du Soleil and have seen many, but the trailer to this one just took my breath away! I knew it was gonna leave me at an AHH!
When I lived in Miami earlier this year it was playing and I missed it and was sooo upset! Then I found out they are coming to LA and was so excited! There was no way I was missing it this time around but being the procrastinator that I am, I always wait till the last minute for anything, whether its a show, flight, trip, deadline but for some reason I just get more excited that way lol. So for almost 2 months I kept telling myself tomorrow I’m gonna go…then last night I realized TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY! Almost all the tickets were sold out! I bought tickets at mid-night and got so excited to find the very few last seats available. The show started at 1pm and as bad as I am at waiting till the last minute, I’m even worse at being on time.
I thought I kinda left at a decent time…turns out not so much cause this is LA, where bumper to bumper traffic is a non-stop activity here. After freaking out for 30mins, I realized this time I’m late and the show won’t wait for me. It just so happens that everyone decided to go to Santa Monica TODAY. After many u-turns for parking lots being full, traffic not moving and cutting off cars, I decided to be ballzy and drive through a closed off area and park my car anywhere because I was already 27mins late to the show. I parked and ran for my life! It turns out I missed 3 acts, but thats alright because I still had 2 more hours of the show to watch and it was AMAZING!

I love going to Cirque Du Soleil, I studied Makeup and went to school for Fashion, I used to also act and dance and just seeing all that magic come together on that stage is truly incredible to me!!! I can get teary eye from excitement and inspiration at these shows! and this one by far had the most sparkles and glitter in any Cirque Du Soleil show that I have ever seen! Which is my biggest weakness! The stunts were AMAZING! The story was one of my favorites I had ever seen! I LOVED LOVED LOVED the colors they used in the show! I just fall in love with this show so bad! I wish I could see it again! I highly recommend it! But surely all I kept thinking about was what I missed in those significant 30mins 🙁

After the show, I enjoyed a nice sunny drive down PCH, windows down, hair blowing in the wind, good music playing and met a few friends in Malibu for lunch at Tra Di Noi. I love this place, It’s just so good time! Haven’t seen one of my friends in a long time, so it was a good times. Had my favorite, Truffle Risotto and well today really felt like a good summer day, with the warm summer breeze driving home after sunset. 🙂
