    • Haven’t been yet, but planning on it! I’m not sure, but it doesn’t look like an event for kids. Tomatoes hurt!! 😉

  1. Great list! We are going to celebrate Yi Peng in a few weeks, the lantern festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is supposed to be beautiful! I have wanted to go to La Tomatina since learning about it in middle school Spanish class!

  2. Holi was a crazy festival and have some great memories but Carnival in Rio was amazing and the Venice fest an unexpected treat. All worthy of a return visit.

  3. That Pingxi Lantern Festival in Taiwan looks fabulous! I’d like to see that. And Carnival of Venice…although I’d imagine the crowds for that are HUGE. Venice is so crowded anyway, it must get ridiculous during Carnivale.

  4. I love this list! I really want to go to La Tomatina and Carnival! I hate to point out something bad, but I do think that the photos you have for Pingxi’s Lantern Festival are actually from Chiang Mai’s Lantern Festival. Of course I cannot be positive, but there usually aren’t Buddhist monks in Pingxi. (Although the third of those pictures could be from Taiwan.)

    • Yes they are great festivals! Thank you for your concern, I actually do alot of research before posting things to make sure there are no mistakes. I did research it again and it was indeed in Pingxi’s Lantern Festival. There are many photos of the Buddhist monks attending. Thanks for stopping by 😉
