Traveling is a lot of fun but traveling can also be very intense. For many years now, I have been traveling and living in different places in the world.

I’m so excited to announce that I’ve partnered up with SK-ll and National Geographic to discuss with you traveling to extreme weather destinations and how to take better care of your skin and body.

Throughout my 10 years of extreme travels, I’ve also traveled to some of the craziest weather conditions known to mankind. I’ve traveled to both the hottest and coldest places in the world and even to the lowest point in the world, the Dead Sea, Israel.

My first year of starting my travel blog, my goal was to visit as many countries as possible for my first year of blogging. I ended up visiting 18 countries from March 2014-2015. The following year, I set my goal for the biggest adventures around the world AKA stepping out of my comfort zone. I ended up traveling to the world’s coldest countries, including Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

My trip to Finland was going to be far from normal. I traveled to the Arctic Circle to a city called Kemi, way up north the globe to test my traveling survival skills. I went from 85’F (Los Angeles) to -10’F! I also slept in the ice hotel in -5 degrees and swim with icebergs and glaciers in the Arctic Circle in Lapland.

In 2015, I also visited Death Valley National Park in Nevada, which is about an hour or so away from Las Vegas. Death Valley is known for having the hottest weather in the world. In 1913, Death Valley reached a staggering high of 134’F breaking world records.

Although the weather conditions are rough, traveling to these places around the world have all been a dream come true. I always love encouraging people to step out of their comfort zones (like me) and visit unique places that most people haven’t. It’s so fulfilling and life changing.

Healthy Lifestyle On The Road

However, like I said earlier, traveling can be a lot of fun but it also can be intense on your body and skin. Taking care of your body should always be your #1 priority and I can definitely say that I learned that lesson the hard way, through trial and error. Without your health, your traveling experience might as well not exist.

Besides checking up on vaccination that you might need for traveling to certain countries, staying hydrated, getting a good night sleep and eating right is all very important. Buying the right clothing gear can be a matter of life or death and so is taking a break/rest when your body needs it.

Another important factor is taking good care of your skin. A lot of extreme weather conditions both hot or cold can be brutal on your skin. We all want to have those memorable photos that will last us a lifetime and having flawless and good skin is important.

I tend to have dry skin and in extreme weather conditions, like humidity, extreme cold or super hot weather, I normally tend to break out.

ABOUT SK-II

For more than 35 years, SK-II has touched the lives of millions of women around the world by helping them to “change destiny” through the miracle of crystal clear skin and life.

The fascinating story behind SK-II began at a sake brewery in Japan, where scientists noticed the elderly workers had wrinkled faces, but extraordinarily soft and youthful-looking hands. These hands were in constant contact with the sake fermentation process. It took years of research for scientists to isolate the miracle ingredient PiteraTM, a naturally-derived liquid from the yeast fermentation process.

Since then, SK-II with PiteraTM has become a special secret shared by celebrities such as Cate Blanchett around the world, transforming skin along the five dimensions of texture, radiance, firmness, spot control and wrinkle resilience critical to crystal clarity.
