6 Things That Help Inspire My Next Destinations And Hopefully Yours

where to travel to next

I get asked by people all the time, where and how I get my inspiration to my next destination, to be honest, it’s quite random and a combination of a few things put together. One of them comes from the fact, that I go through phases in different times of the year, of places that I feel like keep popping up everywhere I go. But the original inspiration comes from these top places and they might inspire your next vacation!

Groupon Inspiration:

Many people don’t know this, but if you actually visit the popular app: Groupon, among many things to do in the city around you there is also a section called “Getaway” and when ever I want to getaway from reality, I escape to this app for new inspiration on destinations. They have beautiful exotic hotels in different parts of the world that honestly, if I wouldn’t have seen it on there, I would have never known they exist. They have great deals from 3-5 nights at a resort to all inclusive deals with airfare, hotels and car rental. You can check hotels & resorts in your area or internationally. If you are looking for a fun way to get inspired on your next destination I would highly recommend checking out this part of the app.

*Don’t forget to read the fine print on when you can actually book it and what it includes and doesn’t.

TV shows/ Documentaries:

I never really have time to watch TV, but every once in a while, I do enjoy some midnight Netflix documentaries or a TV show on traveling and when I do, I always find myself considering traveling to destinations I never thought of visiting before. The moment I get that inspiration, I usually find myself looking up random dates for airfare prices, hotel and attraction. There are also some pretty neat shows on the plane, if you are traveling internationally and have your own TV, it’s also a great way to keep yourself entertained on long haul flights. I’ve seen some pretty cool shows on Antarctica and on being a National Geographic photographer, which made my fascination with Antarctica so strong.

Instagram Inspiration:

Instagram has always been my favorite social media app and with any social media, we all have our favorite account we like to follow, why do we follow them? I personally think for inspiration, at least that’s why I do. Most of the accounts that I follow are travel, fashion and lifestyle related and in most cases are my fellow bloggers. Some of my favorite accounts to follow for inspiration are Jessica from Tuula Vintage, Brooke from World of Wanderlust, Natasha Oakley from A Bikini A Day, Shea from Peace Love Shea and a few more. These social media accounts help me discover new places I’ve never heard of and/or have wanted to visit for a while. Seeing their photos just made my decision to visit some of these places a MUST. Find a few accounts that inspire you (like mine!) to travel or follow your passion and you will be so eager to get on a plane right away.

Great Emails Deals:

Every single day, I receive emails of awesome getaway deals, some emails aren’t so interesting and others have some pretty GOOD deals. Normally this will inspire me to look into a destination more and what it has to offer.

Pinterest Inspiration:

I’ll never forget the day I walked into Anthropologie in the mall, when I lived in Baltimore and met a random girl at the store who told me about Pinterest. 4 years later and I’m still in love with Pinterest, just like the first day I opened my account and currently have over 4000 photos pins. If you haven’t already heard about Pinterest, you gotta check it out NOW!

Friends Story:

I guess you can say word of mouth is the best advertisement. Hearing amazing stories by friends who visited amazing destination is always a big bubble of inspiration to me! It’s what made me so curious about visiting Prague, India and Paris and what makes me wanna visit Peru, Bolivia and Thailand so bad!

So there you have it! Now you know what gets me inspired and makes me plan my next destination! What about you? What inspires your traveling destinations?
